Cardio, etc. return after injury at the bottom.?
Background: I hurt myself in some sort of return in or around February 2007. In July 2007, I was diagnosed with a broken lumbar disc (L3-L4) and a bulging lumbar disk (L4-L5). In mid-July 2007, I had injections cortisone epidural. My pain level has gone down, and my ability to walk was much better (I can not make more than a block or two without need to sit down). I started to strengthen the base (using yoga, pilates, stretching and a book entitled Back Rx), but I would do more. I am desperate to regain my endurance cardio without hurting my back again. Suggestions?
I agree with the writer noted that the elliptical. And it will burn more calories per minute. Consider taking a Pilates class in a studio. Studio instructors are almost always highly skilled issues including continuing ed course on students. Pilates conferences almost always have seminars on issues of return. So I think you benefit of such a class, as you say about your monitor injuries. He / she will be able to adapt to Pilates you, and even teach others who are not your problem. It also leads to a Pilates apparatus work, but you would probably want to some matte work first, to see how it works for you.
